Being fired for needing more health care is something that I have considered. The company subsidized 48% of my premium, but nothing else. While it might not be a fantastic coincidence since I was fired three days after I informed them that I needed specialty care, I don't have the energy or the money to bring suit against them for wrongful firing.
Leaving that aside, I agree. After I got over the shock, I realized that this was a golden opportunity to get my life in order. I have been wanting to make changes anyway, now I have the chance to focus exclusively on them.
