Various things that have happened recently in my life:
1. My laptop came back! And I didn't lose a single thing...except for the fact that my "Hyper Pen" (i.e. drawing tablet) won't work anymore. While I'm extremely ecstatic that I haven't lost anything file wise, I kind of wish it hadn't come at this price. I hope the problem isn't something I did, but knowing me, it probably is. *sigh* Well, now that Dad is home I can have him look at it.
2. Nearly got into an accident about a week ago. I was picking Travis up from work, and I took a turn too fast (it was raining), and I lost control of the vehicle. Thank God I managed to get back in control. It didn't help that I slammed on the brakes. Never a good idea when you lose control of your vehicle, ever. Scariest thing that has happened to me since I've started driving. I don't know why, but I seem to have all sorts of problems when I drive.
3. Dad just came back from his business trip to Japan. Have I ever mentioned how cool my Dad is? Cuz my Dad has to be one of the coolest people that I know. I love my parents to death. I'm glad that I've had a fairly normal family all my life. We used to joke about how "dysfunctional" we are, but in reality, we're a pretty average family. In comparison to the rest of my family, we've had it pretty good.
Anyway, Dad's now home from Japan, and had brought back piles of souvenirs with him. I really made out like a bandit. He brought back eight manga of "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi" or Fullmetal Alchemist, and a novel, and a pretty book/magazine thingy. He also brought home an atlas of Tolkien's Middle Earth, and a bunch of his poems. All in Japanese, of course. Dad figured that I could use these things to help me with my Japanese. I think he should have probably bought some children's books, so that I might have some clue as to what is going to happen in the books. Oh well, as long as there's pictures in the manga, I'll probably manage to figure everything out. I really wish that I could have gone with him.
5. Next weekend is, of course, Otakon. I'm really excited about it! With my dad now back from Japan, and my growing interest in Inu-Yasha once again, I've been jumping around. Plus, Brandy's enthusiasm is really infectious. Plus, I haven't spent money in a while, and the thrill of being able to shop again is getting to me. Thursday can't come soon enough.
6. Work continues to suck. It's not the co-workers that I deal with everyday that suck, in fact, most of them are really cool. It's the hours in combination with a really screwed up overtime system, added to the really moronic customers, and the fact that I have to pick up Travis from work continually (we now have a free vehicle so he can learn to drive ASAP. And he will, dammit!) Again, Thursday can't come soon enough.
And I absolutely love the song that's playing right now. *sighs* ^_^v
