I Just Hopped Back Onto the Bandwagon.
Sep. 20th, 2009 07:30 pmThe Soda Bandwagon. I hopped off a month ago, hadn't had a drop since until Thursday. Now I've had one every single day since. I actually had the equivalent of four today. 9_9
Fail, Heather, fail. UGH. At least I can blame this on PMS. Now I have a hive on my arm to keep me company. That could be from dinner, though. Not too sure about that.

Today, while I was running some errands, I turned my head to look out my open window and I could have sworn I smelled the ocean. I'm sure it was just someone's pollution, but between the cool breeze and the perfect salty sea smell, I was instantly transported to an oceanside in my head.

Extra Manga
Aug. 9th, 2009 07:49 pmI currently have some extra manga that I bought without realizing that I had made the same exact purchase a few months earlier. Unfortunately, I can't return them to Border's becuase it's been over 60 days since I bought them. So, now I have three random volumes of different series' to get rid of - what do you think the best way to unload them would be? I've never re-sold anything on the internet or done a book exchange, so any advice anyone can give on the best way to resell them would be greatly appreciated.
The books are as follows:
Monkey High! Vol. 3 - Brand new condition, never been read.
S.A. Special A Vol. 7 - Brand new condition, never been read.
d.Gray-man Vol. 12 - Like-new condition, flipped through it once.

Here Comes the Rain Again
Jun. 9th, 2009 06:13 pmIs it bad that whenever it starts to rain I immediately think: Oooh! Free car wash!! More wind! Clean the sides!
We had a spectacular storm here this morning - deep, rumbling booms, hard rain, lightening every five to ten seconds. And I'm not talking about cloud to cloud lightening, the stuff you only see as flashes in the sky. I'm talking about cloud to ground (or ground to cloud, whichever is the current prevailing theory these days)or cloud to cloud to ground. Just awesome stuff. Made for an interesting, if entirely too slow, drive to work this morning.
In fact, we're at the tail end of our second storm for the day, which also had good thunder bumpers, lightening, only this time, we had hail! Whoo! I love me some hail! :/

To those of you who are planning on seeing Up: take tissues. Lots and lots of tissues.
To those of you who aren't planning on seeing Up: Go, you will not regret it. See it because it's seriously awesome. But when you do: take tissues. Lots and lots of tissues.
This is not a movie to see when you're depressed and need to be uplifted. But it is a movie you should see regardless.

I'm Feeling Slightly...Eeeeevil, Today.

On to Heather's Evil Moment of the Day:
I was driving on Rte 28 South on my way home today, when I noticed a large black Acura SUV dodging in and out of the two lanes behind me. Supposedly this was an attempt to go down the road faster. Eventually this SUV, driven by a "Soccer Mom" type, did pass me. However, a few minutes later, after a bad call by said driver, I passed her again. She bobbed in and out from behind me a couple of times, when I struck upon a really, seriously, evil idea.
So I sped up a little, made it seem like I was going to go fully pass the truck in the right lane next to me, thus freeing her up to dodge around said truck. HOWEVER (and this is the truly evil part), when she gets behind me again I take my foot off the gas just a little bit.
Slowly, ever so slowly, I ease my car to come in line with the truck in the right lane, until we're driving at essentially the same speed with this woman in this big black SUV is going slowly insane. And by insane, I mean, literally, pulling her hair, pounding the steering wheel, throwing her hands up on the air kind of insane.
It was HILARIOUS. Eventually I did let her pass and she zoomed on ahead, while I had a good chuckle to myself. Not five minutes later, lo and behold, I pass her again. Only this time, her crazy lane changing ways are curtailed by the traffic and she gets stuck behind me (again!) not of my design.

Deep Blue Something
May. 10th, 2009 10:23 pmI bought a betta fish today. He's dark blue and gorgeous. I hope he lasts longer in this house than the last one. It helps that I'm going to keep him in my room where the cat rarely goes unless I'm in here. I'm glad to have a pet that can keep me company in my room again. And he's ridiculously cheap compared to the ferrets. But I still love my boys.
I've decided to name him Sven, because my mom didn't like the name Then. Also - why do I seem to keep on getting male pets...?

Oh Darling, Darling Stand By Me
May. 8th, 2009 06:33 pmIf this doesn't make you smile (or emote in some way), you have no soul.
Our final concert for the MCC this year has the theme of "Why We Sing." I couldn't help but to think on the songs that we'll be singing this concert, how their words and the music has so deeply touched me, the entire time I was watching that.
I always get a little choked up when I sing Joseph M. Martin's "The Awakening" most especially at the the lyric, "May music never die in me." As much as I bitch about the group and how I sometimes feel out of sync with everyone there (spiritually vs musically), I feel blessed to be able to raise my voice in song every week. And to perform the music for the people who come to our concerts.
May music never, ever die in me and forever let my spirit sing.

MP3 Player Advice
Apr. 25th, 2009 02:45 pmI need a new MP3 player. The one I currently have is not up to the task of an 8 hour day of data entry. Doesn't last long enough and doesn't have enough storage. But it's been awhile sense I've felt the urge to buy one, sooooo....
What do you guys use? What do you like best about your player? What do you like least? Is it easy to work with?

What Princesses Don't Do (And Why)
Apr. 23rd, 2009 08:00 pmPrincesses don't do dishes,
And they certainly don't do floors.
They don't do hallways,
And they refuse to do doors.
Princesses don't do attics,
And they won't do baths.
And no matter how much you tell her,
She won't do maths.
Princesses don't do any of these things,
For if they do, they won't become Queens.
(A poem on why I didn't dump the dishwasher, made up on the spot while clutching Vincent. Sorry, Dad.)
