1. We Built This City--Starship
I never understood why people apparently hate this song so much until last summer when I heard it was supposed to be criticizing the power of the studio behind bands, except that Starship was one of those bands anyhow. *shrug* I don't care; I've liked Starship since I was approx. 3 years old, and since the memories associated with the song are enjoyable, so too will be the song.

7. Don't Worry, Be Happy ... Bobby McFerrin
Why??? It's not a deep song, but neither are any of Britney Spears, and I certainly don't see any of her songs on here--nor any from the Backstreet Boys or N'Sync or Maroon 5 or any other bands with incredibly sucky songs. But Don't Worry, Be Happy is cool! Jerks.

12. Kokomo ... The Beach Boys
I might be getting this mixed up with another song ("Tortuga, Bahamas, come on pretty mama...we'll get there faster if we take it slow"...no, I think I'm right). At any rate, I don't think it sucks. Of course, the only version I remember well is the one sung by Kermit the Frog, and Kermit can do no wrong.

19. Broken Wings ... Mr. Mister
How dare they!? This song is cool! (Perhaps I'm biased, as it has been a favorite song since I was 2-1/2, as my parents tell me I first started singing it then. Still, it's cool!)

21. Two Princes ... Spin Doctors
Just because the Spin Doctors were one-hit wonders doesn't mean the song sucks. Who the frick was in charge of compiling this list? They ought to be beaten with shards of shattered Milli Vanilli records (I notice none of "their" songs are on here either >:-/)

29. Breakfast at Tiffany's ... Deep Blue Something
Um, why? These Blender writers are idiots.

33. Barbie Girl ... Aqua
I don't particularly like it, but why is this on here when the likes of Britney Spears go unmentioned?

48. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da ... The Beatles
Alright, someone go shoot the editors. These people officially have no taste.

10. Ebony and Ivory ... Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder
Not that I like it (I don't think I've even heard it), but it sounds pretty cheesy just from the title.

22. Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American) ... Toby Keith
Is that the one with the crappy-ass lyrics along the lines of "I may not know the difference between Iraq and Iran" and other bullshit like that that does nothing to stop the stereotype of ignorance and stupidity among country music singers? I only heard it a few times in the bowels of my kennel days, but it made me more nauseous than a greasy lab with diarrhea.

50. My Heart Will Go On ... Celine Dion
Somewhere inside, my eighth grade heart tried to rise to defend it, but I am now wise enough in my 21 years to recognize the error of my middle school ways. ;-)

I know this is really long; I guess it makes up for my otherwise lack of regular comments.

22. Yeah, that's the song that says' "we'll put a boot in your ass (cuz it's the American way)"

But I agree, with some of the awful shit that gets radio time today, they shouldn't be picking on these songs.

And I think Celine Dion is underappreciated because she got overplayed. Especially this song.

The music itself I think is fine (in reference to MHWGO), and the singing is good, too, but the lyrics leave room to be desired--that and the fact the song was played to shreds.

Yes. That's my biggest criticism for whenever I listen to the radio. A lot of the really popular songs played over and over and over and over and over again. 9_9 It's irritating as all hell. That's why I just listen to CDs, now. XD
