Hallelujah!
My friend Jay, who was shot in the neck in Iraq, has made drastic improvements. Like leap and bounds improvements. Not just five weeks ago he had suffered from another heart attack and now...*sigh* He's going to speech therapy! You have no idea how happy I am. I mean, I didn't know Jay very well, but it's wonderful that Brandon is getting his best friend back in some capacity. I don't think it's really sunk in yet...but, *sigh*. Ureshii neeeeeee....
In other news, Brandon's other friend, Chris, has decided to join the army. On the one hand, I think it's awesome that he's finally doing something with his life and not just going to be a Hollywood Video store manager, but on the other...I'm scared for him. It's strange. I grew up in the army and never really thought about the consequences of being in an organization like that before, even though my dad was still active. I guess it just didn't really hit home until Jay got hurt as to how much suffering this profession could have on a family. I think, in my head, I knew, but I didn't really know know.
Bah. Anyway! Jay is getting better! This is definite cause for celebration!
