I know you said case closed, but ... oh my. I think the author was just ticked that you had the guts to say something about what she wrote, and then all the other Ent-lover wannabes got on your case. Well I am on your side; people need to accept criticism and that not everyone is going to like what they write or create. And as was previously mentioned: CONTEXT. It's all about context. People need to STOP TAKING THEMSELVES SO DAMN SERIOUSLY!

Two more points:
1. I hate fanfic. I think it's stupid and people need to think of their own damn shit. I find the disclaimer funny:

"These characters belong to J. R. R. Tolkien and I have no permission to use them. No revenue is generated by this dubious enterprise, which intends no disrespect."

First, Ent-slash-writer has no permission to use Tolkien's characters, and above all, not for ENT SLASH.

Because I'm sure Tolkien would feel no disrespect, he would LOVE that someone made one of his beloved Ents twig-fuck Legolas in the ass. Imagine the splinters. Oh yes.

2. Ent slash? Are you SERIOUS? It's not playful. It's just creepy. It just goes to show how fucked up people are, and how people are just so desperate to be eccentric [i.e. they want attention. You'd get attention if you wrote Ent slash.]

That is all.
