So I don't talk about this much but...
My inner wrists are numb. I think its a side effect of the steroids, but I'm not sure. See, I have this weird skin allergy/condition/thing, that just recently started and looks gross and is painful and itchy. So I went to see my Doc about it, and I got a Nurse Practitioner who said it was contact dermatitis. I was like, "Cool? No drugs? Great!" Despite the fact that I couldn't think of a single thing that I had contact with that I hadn't had contact with before I got the rash-thing.
"Yeah, just put vaseline on it and it should be okay."
A month goes by. IT'S GOTTEN MUCH MUCH WORSE. It's painful. It's itchy. I can't stop scratching at it and it's driving me nuts. And it looks so so gross. So I go and actually see my brand spankin' new doc (yay heath care!) and the first thing out of her mouth is, "ECZEMA!" (Okay, I lie the first thing she asked was "Are you OK?" because I looked like a poster child for domestic violence and that I spent a week crying over it. Oh yeah, did I mention this disgusting rash thing is ALL OVER MY FACE? D:) Then she said, "Is not what it is." in a really strong European accent (I can't for the life of me pronounce her name.). Geez, scare me half to death, why don't you? "Huh, you look terrible. I give you Prednisone, follow the instructions exactly. You want a flu shot?" (Sure, why the hell not? ...Oh, because the fuckers HURT - and don't block against all the flus cuz I still got ZOMG sick last Saturday. I puked so hard and so often I wrenched all of the muscles in my neck and back.)Anyway, about halfway through the steroid course it COMES BACK. Rather predictably, I thought. So I went back to the Doc's today (and WASTED two hours of PRECIOUS I GET PAID TIME) and she was like, "Didn't work, eh? Hmm. I give you a higher dose. Oh, and go see these guys." So now I have a referral to go to a dermatologist. And a topical cream normally used to treat Eczema, and OH GUESS WHAT? Is linked to cancer. GO ME. 9_9
