Hmm, obviously, I just got back from Edinburgh. As before, I could cheerfully live there for the rest of my life, yadda yadda yadda. There's something about that place that reminds me of home. And I enjoy that. There's a lot of stuff in my life that for some reason or another makes me feel further and further from that feeling, and so it's nice to enjoy, even if it's only for a couple of hours, the feel of home. Of warmth, acceptance, love.
And it's nice to travel with someone who's fairly relaxed through the whole thing. People, when travelling, get stressed out and bitchy at one point or another for one reason or another, so it's nice to travel with someone who's laidback for most of it. Who, though she'll worry, won't let it ruin her fun if we accidently get separated. So it's nice to have a person there who won't get all freaky if I don't show up or am not where I'm supposed to be. Especially since Jessi and I have this tendency to get separated.
This whole past weekend was mad. Beltane was mad crazy with drunk people and fire dances, and glittery things. The trip was mad because we spent 18+ hours on bus, saw most of the English country side between London and Edinburgh, and we didn't get much sleep. The hostel was mad with color and design, bright shiny people, and hard to climb beds. I must admit, though I was sick and my knee hurt like whoa, I had a whole lot of fun. I'm glad I went. I'm glad I can say I went to Edinburgh for their Fire Festival of Beltane. Which was also mad.
